Kitchen Drawer

Kitchen Drawer

Want to get your kitchen organized? These 10 kitchen drawer organizers are awesome! They’ll maximize your space and make everything a snap to find too!

I’ve spent a lot of time organizing the kitchen in our new home because unlike the kitchen we remodeled in our last house, our “new” one doesn’t have any of the same built-in organizing features. One plus is that it’s loaded with drawers and roll-out trays and I’ve found some pretty amazing kitchen drawer organizers to maximize our storage space and make everything easy to find too! Today I’m sharing my ten favorites…

Why

I’ve always kept our spices on in our pantry but since the pantry space in our new kitchen is pretty limited, I decided to organize them in a drawer instead. I bought :

That my contractor cut down to size to fit two of my small drawers perfectly. I then added to I already had:

A few other great options for organizing spices in a drawer are to use an expandable plastic rack like or an expandable steel rack like (make sure you measure the width of your drawer and order one that’s the correct size).

Since all of these angled spice racks raise the spice bottles up, measure to make sure your drawer is deep enough to accommodate them. The height you’ll need depends on the size of the bottles and height of the organizer – in my case, the bottles + drawer organizer were about 3″ H. If you want to keep your spices in a drawer that’s super shallow, check out that allows your spices to lay flat.

One of my favorite kitchen drawer organizers is also the simplest. If you haven’t discovered drawer dividers, you’re missing out! In our old kitchen, I used  to keep my food storage containers organized in one of our island drawers:

It’s one of the home organization ideas that I use in drawers outside of the kitchen too. You’ll want to measure the depth of your drawer to know which size dividers are the correct fit (mine are the longer ones). If the measurement of your drawer depth is within range for both sizes (there is some overlap), definitely size up to the larger size so you get a more snug fit.  A quick tip with these bamboo drawer dividers is to put the spring-loaded end toward the rear of the drawer so the expanded end isn’t visible, making it look like you have custom dividers!

Update: At this time the exact ones I got are out of stock in the large so they’re only showing the small. which are essentially identical are currently available in both sizes if you need the longer “large” size (16.8″ – 21.8″).

Best Kitchen Drawer Organizers 2023

Having corner kitchen drawers in our old kitchen was a game changer! It’s one of my favorite kitchen remodel ideas I share in . I used in the corner drawers in our old house and found that they work really well for maximizing storage space of smaller kitchen items in our new house too.

In our old kitchen, I had six of them in a corner drawer holding extra spices, measuring cups, and smaller utensils like ice cream scoops, corkscrews, garlic press, etc:

They made everything so easy to find versus having all of these items thrown in the drawer where I’d have to rummage through the pile to find what I’m looking for.

How To Replace Kitchen Drawers

Our new kitchen has a LOT of shallow roll-out wood drawers behind cabinet doors which are nice for large items but not very efficient for any smaller items that need to be stored. By using these same deep storage bins, it essentially increased the height of my drawers and allowed me to make much better use of my space. They hold some of my smaller Amazon kitchen gadgets and essentials like measuring cups, baking twine, scissors, and more:

Storage bins/dividers like these come in a lot of different sizes but often they won’t fit your drawers perfectly. As you open and close your drawer they shift and start migrating toward the back of the drawer where they’re harder to get to. This bugged me for years until I came up with a simple solution – the same Command clip trick that I shared when we talked about desk organization works beautifully for kitchen drawers too! Simply place & adhere 1-2 of snug up against the back of your bin:

Your bins will then stay right where you want them and the Command clips can be removed without any damage if you want to make changes down the road.

The top tray slid back to reveal a second level of silverware and cutlery so it was essentially doubling the amount of storage space in my drawer. I ordered my cabinet with this two-tier tray when we remodeled our kitchen so it came pre-installed. But if your drawer is the right depth and you have a 21″ wide frameless base cabinet in your kitchen, you can retrofit it with to have the exact same thing.

There are lots of other simpler ways to organize the silverware in your kitchen drawers too! It’s not the best looking organizer ever, but in our current kitchen I have that gets the job done:

It comes in two size options and the compartment on the right expands to fully fit the width of your drawer. I also like that the dividers in the tray can be moved to accommodate the utensils that you’re storing in them:

My sister recently moved into a new house and had nothing to store her silverware in so we decided on which gives you more of a custom look:

She also had extra silverware that she wanted to find a neat way to store without taking up a lot of space. I found which had over 60k glowing reviews and it did the job beautifully:

I like to keep my countertops as clear as possible which means putting anything that I can in drawers, including my knives. Instead of having them in a countertop knife block, I added that’s a kitchen drawer organizer instead:

Ingenious Ways To Store More In Your Kitchen

Since the knife block is shorter than the length of my drawer, I used my Command clip trick to lock it in place. And as you can see in the pic of this full drawer earlier in this post, I keep it from shifting left to right with an expandable bamboo organizer.

Another kitchen drawer feature that helps keep countertops free of clutter is an in-drawer outlet. We had one in our Connecticut kitchen and I absolutely loved having it:

It was the perfect place to keep our iPad (that I use often for cooking recipes), to power up portable chargers, and to plug-in an iPhone that needed recharging. While I ordered this with our new kitchen cabinets when we remodeled, you can also add it to existing cabinets as long as you’re able to place an outlet in the base cabinet. With an outlet on the back wall of your base cabinet, you can plug in that has two regular outlets and two USB outlets to the back of your drawer. Just like mine, it’s on a hinge that allows it to move back and forth as the drawer opens and closes:

It’s great for retrofitting bathroom drawers too! Just make sure you have the 2+” of clearance in the back of your drawer that’s required to make this work.

One frustration I have with the drawers in our new house is that almost all of them are very shallow or very deep without only a few (like my spice drawers) in that nice in-between size. The shallow ones aren’t even deep enough for boxes of baggies so this wood baggie organizer came to my rescue:

Silverware

It’s only 2 ½″ tall so it fits in my shallow drawer and has a hinged lid with compartments that I place my baggies in. Unfortunately the Etsy shop I bought mine from no longer sells them but you can find several similar options on Etsy ) and on Amazon . Just check the height on what you buy to make sure it’s shallow enough for the drawer you want to put it in.

I also want to give a shout-out to that I got a few years back in an effort to cut back on the number of plastic baggies I use. They’re dishwasher safe, close securely, and have cut my use of plastic baggies by quite a bit.

I always need a drawer in the kitchen that’s more like an office drawer where I keep everything from stamps to pens, business cards, tape dispenser & stapler, and more. To get everything more organized and easy to find, a few years back I bought several of and organized the heck out of it:

Since there are several size options, I was able to play around with them to find an arrangement that fit my drawer really well. And they made everything so much more organized and easy to find. They come in several fun color options too!
